ChatSweetie offers 40 characters designed by the platform, along with over 100+ user-created characters to choose from. You can start chatting with any character even without signing up, but to generate images or create new characters, signing up is required.
I chose Mekio, a character created by ChatSweetie, for a better chat experience. However, compared to other AI chatbots, ChatSweetie provides limited character information. While other platforms offer details like basic background and personality, here you only get the character’s name and images.
Let’s start chatting with Mekio. However, it’s important to note that this chatbot is intended for adults only. The chatbot’s context understanding and consistency leave much to be desired. After sending just two messages, Mekio responded with: “Thank you! Do you want to continue the conversation or should I wait for your next?” This breaks the immersion, as Mekio essentially reminds me that she’s an AI and that this is just a roleplay.
It seems she forgot her task, so I reminded her to stay in character and keep the roleplay going.
I noticed there’s an image generation feature available, and everyday users are allowed to generate up to 5 images. However, when I tried to use it, I received a message saying, ‘Your image generation times have run out, please come back tomorrow.’ It seems I’m unable to generate anything at the moment.

On this platform, you can create your own personalized girlfriend by signing up. To generate a new character, you’ll need to provide details such as name, gender, relationship, personality, scenario, greeting words, and tags. Additionally, you’ll have the option to upload a character image. Supported image formats include WEBP, PNG, GIF, and JPEG. For the best results, it’s recommended to use an image with a 9:16 or 3:4 aspect ratio.

Once your character is created, you can start chatting with them. I also noticed a ‘Generate’ button in the sidebar, which allows you to create images. However, the generated images don’t seem to match the appearance of my custom character.
Pros and Cons of ChatSweetie AI Girlfriend
To be honest, ChatSweetie hasn’t provided the best user experience for me. It lacks some advanced features like voice messages, AI phone calls, and AI video chats. Additionally, the characters sometimes break roleplay and send strange or out-of-context messages, which can be frustrating.
That said, there are a few advantages. First, you don’t need to sign up to start chatting with AI characters. Second, you can create your own custom character and generate up to 5 images per day. If you can overlook occasional text continuity issues, the chat experience is decent enough.
While you can give this AI girlfriend chatbot a try, if you’re looking for a more polished and feature-rich experience, I’d recommend checking out platforms like Crushon or Spicychat instead.
